Grass Valley, California – Music industry analysts predict that independent venues and performing arts centers across America are at the brink of total collapse with 90% of venues at risk of permanently closing without federal or local support. This situation is critical and urgent for the performing arts industry. (NIVA.org) In a desire to call attention to Save Our Stages and support local arts organizations and to bring visibility to them, Roy Rogers, 8 time Grammy nominee, and considered one of the preeminent slide guitarists in the world, will be performing a carefully curated solo acoustic concert set on the new stage at The Center for the Arts Grass Valley on Saturday September 20th at 5 PM on Facebook Live. Rogers’ will bring with him an array of vintage guitars rarely seen from his private collection as well as songs & stories from a career that spans 50 years performing festivals and arts venues around the globe.

About the Center for the Arts: The Center for the Arts has truly become the hub of arts for Nevada County. We are committed to bringing a diverse array of programming to western Nevada County, including music, dance, theater, film, visual art, comedy, youth arts education and literature. We manage and maintain a multi-use 21,000 square foot facility in downtown Grass Valley which includes a 492-seat Main Theater, a visual arts gallery, classroom space, and a 90 seat black box theater. The Center is the only cultural organization in Nevada County that offers such a variety of events to such a large demographic.
